In-situ Remediation
In-Situ remediation
In situ refers to a variety of solutions in common is that they do not remove contamination by digging it away, but instead uses the physical, chemical or biological processes to remove or bind transforming pollution. The methods are very different and the actual solution must be tailored to the specific pollution.
There may be various reasons for choosing an in-situ solution. For example, the solution can be a good alternative to traditional methods from an economic viewpoint. In other situations it may be impossible to eliminate pollution in the traditional manner.
Natural attenuation
Natural attenuation is considered as an in-situ remediation method. Apart from studies of soil and groundwater environment potential for natural degradation of the identified contaminants, a model. The model describes the risk of impact on environment and health. The result will be a conclusion on the natural degradation of contaminants will be sufficient to avoid any risk of impact on environment and health.
In the choice of in-situ solutions drawn monitoring programs to monitor pollution levels and to document the method adequacy.
In-situ solutions may be considered when all pollution scenarios. Ejlskov A / S carries out studies to assess in-situ solutions including oil components, solvents and pesticides. We have designed and implemented various in-situ solutions in Denmark and abroad and we have great experience in development of targeted monitoring programs.
